The ministry task force announce that Singapore will start phase 2 re opening on June 19. Will the highly anticipated Car showrooms be allowed to start retailing?

The answer is ‘yes’ as car showroom retail fall under SSIC code 47 which can be found in your company’s ROC (Registrar of Companies) certificate.

Firms that have been permitted to operate as at 18 Jun will be allowed to continue to carry on their operations post 18 Jun. In addition, firms undertaking activities in line with the SSIC codes listed below will be allowed to resume operations from 19 Jun 2020.

To provide a safe working environment and to prevent transmission at the workplace, businesses are required to abide by the nation-wide general guidelines for workplaces issued on 9 May 2020. Businesses should also adhere to the sector-specific guidelines.

All businesses are to comply with the following requirements:
1. All employees who have been working from home so far should continue to do so.
2. Employees should only return to the workplace where it is demonstrably necessary, for purposes that cannot be carried out via telecommuting (e.g. to access specialized terminals or dedicated machines, or to complete a contract or transaction that is legally required to be completed in person and on-site).
3. Social distancing of 1 meters applies from sales person to customers and not more than a group of 5 is allowed during viewing.
4. Viewing by appointment is still highly recommended.
5. Wearing mask outside at all times.
